Playboy Magazine Value Guide
How can I find out how much entire series’ of TV Guide and Playboy are worth?
I recently acquired full collections of TV Guide (beginning with the first one featuring Lucille Ball’s baby on 4/3/53) and Playboy (beginning with the first one – Marilyn Monroe – dated Dec, 1953). These collections were left to me by a deceased relative. He was very anal regarding his magazines – meaning he purchased them right off the news stand, sealed them in bags, and stored them in an old chest freezer in his basement – so they are ALL in mint condition.
I don’t particularly have an interest in continuing the collections, so I am considering selling them as entire sets. I know that they are only worth what someone is willing to pay, but I’d like to find out their real value (I realize they are worth a small fortune, but have no idea exactly how much.) Can anyone tell me where I should start?
a copy of the first issue in mint condition sold for $5000 in 2002, sounds like you’ve got quite a fortune!
