Magazine Query Letter Example
So I am a Writing Major and am writing an article and query letter to a magazine. What do you think of my idea?
So i decided to tackle the issue of “justice and retaliation.” I use specific examples from my love life and friendships. I am specifically focusing on the statement “In the right mindset, it is not hypocricy to punish hurtful people, with the goal of preventing them from harming anyone else.”
Basicly, I dated a coke user who (somehow) I cared about who was about to have sex with me, then heard rumors and dropped me like a fly. I did not create them, and I am a guy who doesnt mess around with drugs or have incredible amounts of sexual exploits. Also, I use an example of a best friend of mine who is in jail now, yet still values my friendship greatly. His sexual exploits and drug dealing have caused me to retaliate by dropping him “mercilessly.” I argue that its not fighting fire with fire, its fighting fire with well…..water if you catch my drift.

keep in mind it will be from a rhetorical standpoint, not a vengeful, childish one.
