Magazine Line Scam

Journal of telemarketing scam?
A little further back in July, I received a phone call that was made to sign magazines. I went ahead and given my card number, but there came a point where I wanted to verbally agreeing to a record of payments. At this point, I hung up. I have never been accused at all and even to cancel my card. A few months later I received a call from what I think was the same company. tele-marketing was told that for being so patient and good client or something that they wanted to send something free, and the call ended quickly. but began worry because although the first time that I have never accepted anything he can not remember if I gave them my Social Security number or not. I do not remember at all if I did. my question is if they have my SS or may not send a collection agency after me? I am in contact with Equifax morning and after submitting my credit file. Should I worry? if something is wrong, it will be difficult to overcome?
First lesson never buy anything from a phone call or someone knocks on your door. I never a good business and often a scam. Suffice it to say: "No, thanks." And hang. Second Instead, do not need your social security number to report something that the credit bureaus. Only your name and address may be sufficient. But instead of rushing to revise their credit report, wait 45 days. Their report will be clean tomorrow, but if the company has something rare, not shown 45-60 days. If you receive a package, you may want to only return unopened or very carefully follow every piece of paper. Most likely there is a sort of trial service and you hit with charges in the way.
