Has anyone been to the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans? Is it good?

I’m from the u.k and I heard about this Music festival in the Essence magazine…I’m really interested in going as it has big names performing there each year plus this year It falls on my birthday :-) i would like to do something very different this year. Im hoping its the equivalent to the Southport Soul Weekender music festival that we have in the UK.

You need to go if you can , it’s a really good show
